Open Enrollment For 2022 Benefits Is Now Open, Oct 11 - Oct 29

Open Enrollment is an opportunity for all benefits-eligible employees to enroll in or make changes to their benefits for the upcoming year. Open Enrollment is passive this year, which means if you do not make any changes, you will remain in the same coverage for 2022, except for FSA/HSA elections. 2022 Benefits Open Enrollment: Back TUGether!

Open Enrollment is an opportunity for all benefits eligible employees to enroll in or make changes to their benefits for the upcoming year. The Open Enrollment period will begin October 11, 2021 and end October 29, 2021. Tulane is committed to providing our employees with a benefits program that is both comprehensive and competitive. Our benefits program offers health care, dental, vision coverage, as well as financial security to our employees and their families. Use the information provided on this page as a general overview of your benefit choices and the Enrollment Guide to help you select the coverage that is right for you.

Open Enrollment is passive this year, which means if you do not make any changes, you will remain in the same coverage for 2022, except for FSA/HSA elections.

Remember! Open Enrollment is Your Chance To:

  • Change, elect, add dependents, or drop medical, dental, vision, Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA),  and life insurance coverage.
  • Update beneficiary information.
  • Update personal contact information for yourself and dependents, including address, dates of birth, social security numbers, etc.
  • Contribute to Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DFSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). Don't forget, 2021 FSA elections do not carry over to 2022, so you must re-enroll.
What's Changing in 2022?
  • Enhanced coverage for infertility treatments through the medical plan, which includes coverage for assisted reproduction.
  • Increases to the HSA, FSA, and DFSA limits.
  • Medical plan rates will be increasing by 6%.
  • Employee premium contributions will continue to be based on four pay ranges aligned with Tulane's compensation structures. Some employees will see a reduction in medical premium, See 2022 Rates for details.
  • Bi-weekly employee premium contributions will now be evenly deducted over 24 paychecks per year. The first two paychecks in each month will include premium contributions; however these deductions will no longer be taken from any third paycheck that occur during a month.
2022 Open Enrollment Timeline

 

October 11 - October 29, 2021 December 31, 2021 January 1, 2022
  • Oct. 11: Online Webinar
  • Oct. 11: First day of Open Enrollment begins.
  • Oct. 11 -Oct. 29: 1:1 Virtual Assistance, by appointment
  • Oct 29: Last day to enroll or make changes to coverages
  • Dec. 31: Plan year and HFSA/DFSA contribution ends.
  • Jan. 1: New 2022 coverages begin, if enrolled by October 29, 2021.
  • Jan.: Employees can begin making their retirement elections for 2022.

 

Thinking About Your Retirement Elections?

Planning for your financial security is as important to your overall wellbeing as your health benefits. Although you can make changes to your retirement elections throughout the year, annual open enrollment often inspires many to update their annual contributions. If you plan to make changes to your retirement elections for 2022, it is best to wait until January 2022.

 

How to Enroll

To Enroll in your benefits, visit Employee Self-Service  between October 11 - October 29 and complete the following steps:

  • Go to Employee Self-Service and login with your TU username and password
  • Make your benefits selections
  • Print your confirmation statement and keep for your records
