These requirements apply to Faculty, Staff, Administrators, Librarians, Post-Doctoral Fellows, and Expatriates.
Medical
You are eligible to enroll in medical benefits if the below applies:
- An employee scheduled in HCM to work 18.75 hours or more per week
- A full-time employee scheduled to work with the university for no less than 7 months
- A part-time employee working at least 50% of a full-time schedule and expected to work no less than 7 months
Dental & Vision
You are eligible to enroll in dental benefits if the below applies:
- A full-time employee scheduled to work with the university for no less than 7 months
- A part-time employee working at least 50% of a full-time schedule and expected to work no less than 7 months
Flexible Spending Accounts
- An employee scheduled in HCM to work 18.75 hours or more per week
- A full-time employee scheduled to work with the university for no less than 7 months
- A part-time employee working at least 50% of a full-time schedule and expected to work no less than 7 months
Long Term Disability
LTD participation is mandatory for all regular and part-time benefits eligible employees and enrollment is immediate.

Faculty & Staff
- Tulane provides a Basic Term Life Insurance policy in an amount equal to 1.5X your annual salary up to a maximum of $50,000 for you and a Basic Dependent Life Insurance policy in the amount of $2,000 for your spouse and each dependent child paid by Tulane.
- You may also choose to purchase additional Supplemental Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance for your self and your dependents.

TUMG Members
- Tulane provides a Basic Term Life Insurance policy in an amount equal to 1.5X your annual salary up to a maximum of $50,000 for you and a Basic Dependent Life Insurance policy in the amount of $2,000 for your spouse and each dependent child paid by Tulane. TUMG memebers also receive an additional Basic Group Life policy through TUMG in the amount of $150,000.
- You may also choose to purchase additional Supplemental Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance for your self and your dependents
Retirement
Tulane University offers a retirement package comprised of four plans; three 403(b) plans and one 457(b) plan. Below is eligibility information on the four plans.

You are eligible to participate in this plan after two Years of Service, without experiencing a Break in Service before completion of the two years and working at least 975 hours in each of the years. Once eligible, Tulane will contribute 8% of your Regular Salary.

Faculty and Administrative 403(b) Plan

You are eligible to participate in this plan after two Years of Service, without experiencing a Break in Service before, the completion of the two years and working at least 975 hours in each of the years. Once eligible, Tulane will contribute as follows:

Participants with a Regular Salary that is less than $80,000, the University will contribute 8% of their Regular Salary plus 100% of matching contributions up to 2%.

Participants with a Regular Salary of $80,000 or more shall have their Regular Salary reduced by 2% and the University will contribute 12% of their Regular Salary.
