2021 Open Enrollment: Get Better TUgether!

Open Enrollment is an opportunity for all benefits eligible employees to enroll in or make changes to their benefits for the upcoming year. The Open Enrollment period will begin October 12, 2020 and end October 30, 2020. Tulane is committed to providing our employees with a benefits program that is both comprehensive and competitive. Our benefits program offers health care, dental, vision coverage, as well as financial security to our employees and their families. Use the information provided on this page as a general overview of your benefit choices and enrollment guide to help you select the coverage that is right for you.

Open Enrollment is passive this year, which means if you do not make any changes, you will remain in the same coverage for 2021, except for FSA/HSA elections.

Remember! Open Enrollment is Your Chance To:

  • Change, elect, add dependents, or drop medical, dental, vision, Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA),  and life insurance coverage.
  • Update beneficiary information.
  • Update personal contact information for yourself and dependents, including address, dates of birth, social security numbers, etc.
  • Contribute to Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DFSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). Don't forget, 2020 FSA elections do not carry over to 2021, so you must re-enroll.
What's Changing in 2021?
  • We are excited to announce that TUMG (Tulane University Medical Group) will now be a special part of our network of providers.
  • Plan participants who utilize TUMG physicians will receive a reduction in copays depending on the plan they're enrolled in. These lower costs can be found  in the Comparison Chart and for more information about our TUMG Partnership click here.
  • An additional Living Well Clinic is now open, located at the University Square complex! More information can be found in the guide.
  • Medical plan rates will be increasing by 4%.

Thinking About Your Retirement Elections?

If you plan to make changes to your retirement elections for 2021, the best time to do this is on/after December 18, 2020 if you are paid on a biweekly basis and on/ after January 1, 2021 if you are paid on a monthly basis to align with the first pay periods in 2021`.

Why? If you change your elections before these dates, the dollar amount you elect will be applied immediately to the remainder of 2020 instead of January 2021.
