TU Wellness Vision & Mission

Our mission is to create and maintain a culture of holistic health and wellness for all Tulane employees and the Tulane community which includes our faculty and staff and academic community. Through health education and the wellness activities offered by TU Wellness, our colleagues will be enabled to maintain healthy lifestyles which will result in improved employee engagement, increased productivity, and smarter utilization of available employee benefits.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Rally Rewards Program

Tulane University wants to reward you for taking care of your health!  With the transition to Blue Cross Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, we are implementing a new Rally Rewards Program.  Rally rewards is a free incentive program that encourages simple steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Eligible employees can earn up to $500 or $1000 in health savings accounts, health reimbursement accounts or gift cards depending on your plan.

Tulane University Wellness is dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of our colleagues and community. It is important that every colleague, faculty, and staff have access to information that will aid and navigate employees through critical events.

Current Events

Fitts Bit Challenge

During the month of March, we asked employees to be part of the Fitts Bit Challenge 2019. This challenge encouraged all to become healthier by being mobile and active. Participants tracked their walking steps daily via several devices such as a Fitbits, Apple watches, Garmin trackers, smartphones, and even simple pedometers.

For 2019, we are happy to congratulate our top three winners: 

  • First place: Anthony Contello
  • Second place: Brittany Kennedy
  • Third place: Jake Korn

Anthony walked well over a 1 million steps! His total came out to be equivalent to 521 miles. Brittany Kennedy walked over 700,000 (352 miles) and Jake Korn walked 564,000 steps (252 miles). Congratulation to our top three walkers for winning the challenge and achieving this wellness milestone.

In all, 142 Tulane employees participated in this challenge, we congratulate all of them for deciding to make March a wellness and active month.
