Holiday Considerations

Timekeepers will update flextime and compressed workweeks in KRONOS for designated employees.  If a university holiday or winter recess day falls on a day that an employee is scheduled to be off as a result of flextime or a compressed work week, the holiday will not be paid.  Holidays and Winter Recess are paid to employees regularly scheduled to work on those days.   

Additionally, when using accrued sick or vacation hours, the number of hours absent will correspond to the approved flexible work arrangement schedule.  For example, an exempt employee with a schedule of three 9.5-hour days and one 9-hour day who takes vacation on one of the 9.5 hour days would be charged 9.5 hours of accrued vacation.
