Infertility Coverage Added To Tulane's Benefit Plan
As of January 1, 2022, Tulane added infertility services to our benefits plan. This includes a $20,000 lifetime maximum combined between medical and pharmacy services.
What is covered?
- Testing and diagnosis for infertility
- Treatment of underlying condition causing infertility
- Assisted reproduction
- Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer (GIFT)
- Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer (ZIFT)
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) o Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
- Artificial Insemination
- Prescription Drugs

What is not covered?
- The following services are considered investigational and, therefore, not covered:
- Assisted hatching
- Cryopreservation of ovarian tissue, or oocytes
- Storage and thawing of ovarian tissue, oocytes, or testicular tissue
- Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (without a diagnosis of infertility)
- Assisted reproduction without an infertility diagnosis
