Staff Timekeeping Responsibilities
Supervisors and employees share responsibility for compliance with university policies established to meet the requirements of federal and state wage and hour laws. Regular and consistent attendance records are necessary to provide on-time pay. Therefore, it is every employee's responsibility to ensure time is reported accurately and timely in Kronos.
It is essential that non-exempt staff employees:
- Record all hours worked.
- Record any time not worked as sick or vacation.
It is essential that exempt staff employees:
- Record any exception time (vacation, sick, bereavement, jury, etc.) during the pay period.
- Approve their timecard by the third working day after month end.
