Biography
Karen D’Arcy joined the HR team in 2011 and has over 20 years’ experience in human resources that includes implementing HRIS applications, continuous quality improvements, talent management, employee relations and training and development. In her current role as Director of Learning and Organizational Development, Karen drives enterprise-wide learning initiatives and strategic projects related to Learning and Organizational Development with the goal of continually improving the effectiveness and operational efficiency of the programs. Karen is highly committed to delivering new learning programs, and leveraging learning solutions to support a culture of learning for all working professionals.
Prior to joining the Tulane team, Karen was the Director of Human Resources at Tulane Medical Center.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from University College Dublin. She is a Certified Project Manager (MPM) and in 2020, Karen completed her SOCIAL STYLE® Accreditation. She is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is also a proud recipient of the 2014 Tulane University President’s Staff Excellence Award.
Recently, Karen completed the Inclusive and Ethical Leadership Certificate and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida (USF). In April, 2022 Karen was honored to present a session titled 'Solving the Retention Puzzle' at the CUPA-HR Spring Conference.
When not working, you will find Karen on a sideline fulfilling her soccer mom duties.
