We are excited to announce that this year, the Office of Human Resources' Talent Development team and Innovative Learning Center are joining forces to create Professional Development Week at Tulane from April 7 to April 11! This partnership and expanded format will offer a mix of virtual webinars and in-person workshops, providing greater flexibility to fit busy schedules and support your growth and success. 

What to Expect for PDW 2025:

  • Week-Long Learning Opportunities: Based on your feedback, we’ve expanded to a full week! With 25 sessions over five days, you can attend more, avoid scheduling conflicts, and balance learning with your workload.
  • Hybrid Event: Join us for a mix of virtual sessions from the convenience of your workspace and in-person workshops at both uptown and downtown locations. This flexible format ensures accessibility for everyone, no matter where you are.
  • Diverse Professional Development Topics: Sessions will foster personal and professional growth, with a focus on leveraging AI tools, learning about resources available to you, enhancing your managerial skills, and promoting overall well-being.
  • Introducing ILC TU-torials: Join the new and fresh Innovative Learning Center (ILC) TU-TORIALS sessions culminating on Friday, featuring edtech experts and industry leaders. Grab some swag and hear insights from fellow faculty, students, and colleagues. Attendees can join in person and virtually via Zoom.
  • Engagement & Connection: Participate in meaningful discussions, network with colleagues across departments, and collaborate on shared challenges—plus, have a chance to win exciting prizes!

AI Beyond ChatGPT

What to Expect: ChatGPT has such a dominant position in the minds of most people that it more or less = AI to them. In a recent survey of Tulane students, almost all were familiar with it, while very few were familiar with other major AI tools. This workshop, hosted by Knud Berthelsen, Professor of Practice at the Connolly Alexander Institute for Data Science (CAIDS), discusses and demonstrates the most important tools beyond ChatGPT: Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, and Perplexity. All of them are better than ChatGPT at one or more important AI tasks. Participants will learn which tools to use for which types of AI tasks and how.

Collaboration Reimagined: Interactive Strategies for Effective Workplace Collaboration
