The President’s Staff Excellence Awards recognize exceptional employees who exemplify Tulane’s core values through their achievements, contributions, and leadership. Award recipients consistently go above and beyond in their roles, demonstrating outstanding commitment to Tulane’s mission and fostering a positive impact within the university.

- Staff and administrators employed 50% or more in a regular benefits-eligible position.
- Must have successfully completed the six-month introductory period.
- Employees who received the award in the previous award cycle are not eligible for this year's award (i.e., if you won in 2024, you are not eligible in 2025).
Nominees should have achieved outstanding success in one or more of the following areas:
- Leading for a Better Tomorrow - Recognizes individuals who demonstrate leadership by proactively identifying and addressing challenges, contributing innovative solutions, and fostering a culture of growth.
- Knowledge For Good - Honors employees who actively engage in continuous learning, apply their expertise to advance Tulane’s mission and contribute knowledge for societal benefit.
- Unconventional Innovation - Recognizes employees who think creatively, initiate interdisciplinary collaborations and implement inventive strategies to improve their work and Tulane’s impact.
- Welcoming Community - Fosters a supportive and respectful environment that embraces a wide range of perspectives, empowering all Tulanians to thrive.
- Collaborative Engagement - Acknowledges employees who excel in teamwork, external partnerships, and community outreach, strengthening Tulane’s connections both internally and externally.
- Inspiring Excellence - Recognizes employees who set high standards, inspire others through their dedication, and uphold the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.
Nomination and Selection Process
1. All staff, administrators, faculty, students, and affiliates of Tulane are welcome to submit nominations, following these instructions:
- The nomination form should be thoroughly completed.
- At least one letter of support should be included with specific examples of how the nominated individual's efforts resulted in outstanding achievement in one of the categories listed above.
- Both the completed nomination form and letter(s) of support should be emailed to Will Ferbos, Vice President for University Relations and Deputy Chief of Staff, at ferbos@tulane.edu by close of business Monday, May 5, 2025.
Please Note: All nomination forms and letters are kept in the strictest of confidence.
2. Nominations are reviewed by the Office of Human Resources to verify that eligibility requirements have been met.
3. The Awards Committee reviews nominations and submits recommendations to the senior administration of the University for final approval.
4. Recipients are announced.
- Recipients will receive a monetary award that will be included in the recipient’s next regular paycheck.
