What’s New? Updates to Student Hiring Notifications!
- Hourly Assignments
- Students will receive only ONE notification with an active hourly assignment. It will arrive when the Kronos Account is Active and they can begin recording hours.
- Notifications will reflect FWS if entered on the assignment.
- All assignment notifications will be custom to the assignment type – Hourly, Stipend, or Non-Service.
- All assignment notifications will now reflect the assignment’s start date, payment type, hourly or stipend $ amount.
Training is available online through TULearn! If you have never hired students or need a quick refresher, you can enroll and take the course here. This training is open to anyone who hires students.
- All Student job openings must be posted to Handshake for students to search and apply. Questions about how to ‘Get started on Handshake’? View step-by-step instructions HERE.
- Only new student-workers must complete new hire paperwork and complete an I-9 verification.
- All hired student employees with active HR primary assignments can move directly to the “placement” step. No new hire paperwork required.
- Student hourly assignments that have not recorded hours in Kronos WFR in 120 days will be terminated through a mass process.
- Students will need a new assignment if:
- They have a FWS award you will be using for their assignment.
- They do not have an active assignment with your department.
- FWS is awarded to students each academic year. Please view proof of an accepted FWS award BEFORE creating a work assignment. Students can provide a screen shot of their accepted award as proof.
- Students are not allowed more than one work study position and two non-work study positions.
- Students should not work more than 20 hours combined, regardless of the number of hourly assignments.
- Stipend assignments should not extend past the end of the 2021-2022 academic year.
- All students are paid according to the Biweekly Payroll Calendar.
