COVID-19 Benefit Changes: Important Update
Effective 5/11/2023, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency period ends. Please be aware that for covered services incurred after May 11, 2023, benefit changes in place due to COVID-19 will end and we will revert to the contract benefits currently in place under your specific group benefit plan. Please see below for details.
Please complete this short survey by April 21 to confirm your agreement with this approach or request exceptions. If you would like to set up any exceptions to the below coverages, we will need to know by April 21.
We will administer COVID-19 related benefits in the following manner as of May 12, 2023.
- COVID-19 Vaccines will be covered based on a member's preventive benefits.
- COVID-19 Lab Test & Related Services will be covered according to the member's plan benefits.
- COVID-19 Treatment, including antiviral medications, will be covered according to the member's plan benefits,.
- Over-the-counter COVID-19 tests will no longer be covered by medical or pharmacy benefits. (Note: Tests are FSA and HSA eligible.)
- Any benefit plans that waived Prior Authorization for COVID-related services will now again require proper authorizations for claims payment.
- Telehealth visits will be covered according to the member's plan benefits.
