On November 22, 2016, a U.S. District Court judge issued a preliminary injunction to postpone the implementation of the Department of Labor's (DOL) overtime rule under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) which was intended to become effective on December 1. Tulane moved forward with the changes to employee salaries and classifications.
The university closely monitors legal developments regarding the injunction and the Fair Labor Standards Act. We continue to review employee classifications and reserve the right to undertake additional changes in compensation, employee classifications and time keeping processes in the future.
