New Student Employee Onboarding

Congratulations on your new on-campus job! This page will walk you through the steps to get hired and start work. International students will also find additional resources and frequently asked questions specific to their situation below. If you have any questions, please email SEHR@tulane.edu.

Student Hiring Process Overview

1. Find an On-Campus Job

Browse and apply for on-campus student jobs through the Student Jobs portal. For a step-by-step walkthrough of the application process, visit the How to Apply for a Student Job guide.

2. Complete Onboarding

Once hired, you will receive a series of onboarding emails. Here is what to expect:

  • An email from waveworks@tulane.edu asking you to enter your personal protected information, including your date of birth and Social Security Number (SSN). If you do not have an SSN, please visit the OISS website for information on next steps.
  • An email with instructions on how to set up your employee account. This will be a temporary username used until your account is connected to your Tulane Single Sign-On.
  • An email with a link to your personal Onboarding Journey in the system, which will include most of your new hire documents.
  • An email from tucareers@tualne.edu with a link to the Tulane Employment Center for required state and federal documents, including Section 1 of your I-9 form. A separate password email will be sent for access.

3. Verify Your I-9 Documents

After completing your online onboarding documents, you will need to present your I-9 supporting documents in person to Human Resources for verification. Please make an appointment at a location convenient for you.
