New Staff Compensation Structure – Update & Information Sessions
As previously announced, the new compensation structure will be effective on July 1, 2018. The new compensation structure is the result of the compensation study conducted by Willis Tower Watson (WTW), and supported by Tulane’s Executive Cabinet.
As part of the study, we listened to the Tulane community's concerns regarding compensation and its practices. These comments have included the following:
- "Greater clarity and transparency of compensation philosophy as well as pay grades and salary ranges"
- "Increased frequency and effectiveness of education for managers processes and expectations for various compensation activities"
- "Emphasis on performance evaluation design to reward based on performance"
- "Increased level of effective education for managers on compensation processes and awareness on key activity schedule"
In order to assist you with the understanding of the new staff compensation structure, the Office of Human Resources we will be offering a series of information sessions across campus. At the sessions, you will learn about the new compensation structure, career bands, how to administer compensation for new hires, internal transfers, and promotions.
