The Senior Department Administrator serves as both business/financial officer and communications manager for the Department of Epidemiology, and the primary duties include: managing all departmental administrative and financial activities: budgetary management, grants and contracts submissions, human resource administration, facilities and resource management, coordination of grants and contracts activities, development and implementation of operational procedures, and special projects as assigned.
Additional responsibilities of the position include working in conjunction with the Department Chair, faculty, and research staff members to manage budgetary issues of research activities, as well as the management and oversight of all financial and human resource activities for the Bogalusa Heart Study Clinic and Office of Health Research.
The overall responsibilities of this position include defining the functional requirements, conducting detailed analysis, correcting and resolving data/set up/configuration issues and acting as a liaison between HRIS and the following functional HR areas: Compensation, Benefits and Payroll. Works closely with business project sponsors and development organizations in developing test cases, conducting user acceptance testing and seeing through implementations. Interacts with cross- functional teams where system interface activity may occur. Ensures compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
The Equity Compliance Investigator is responsible for investigating complaints related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and/or Title IX to determine whether University actions violated University policies and procedures or state and/or federal laws.
