This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Tulane University (TU) Radiation Safety Program. The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) has authority to approve new radioactive material or radiation-producing device users and protocols, stop work when there is an imminent health or safety hazard, and interface with regulators, Tulane University administration and principal investigators. The RSO is responsible for maintaining the Tulane Broadscope Radioactive Material License and the Tulane Radiation Safety Program.
In addition, the RSO is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a compliant Laser Safety Program that incorporates best practices and protective measures. In addition, the RSO will supervise the Assistant RSO. This position is considered essential for certain campus emergencies and is expected to remain in campus allocated locations when called upon to do so.
The Director of Community Engagement will be responsible for the comprehensive strategy and implementation of all community engagement initiatives for the Center for Sport at Tulane University.
These initiatives include the development of outreach programming, coordination of community partnerships, and advocacy of military veterans and athlete populations. The Director of Community Engagement is the primary liaison for community engagement work with the local and national stakeholders of the Center for Sport, as well as an ambassador for Tulane University externally.
Responsibilities include the development of strong partnerships with national outreach programs to benefit and grow the Center for Sport and its network visibility through proactive engagement across the veteran and former professional athlete communities, to enhance participation in organizational events. This position will assist with generating and developing veteran and athlete referral sources and community and business partner organizations for the Center for Sport. The Director will facilitate and participate in outings with patient and partner organizations as well as outreach opportunities. Assist with presenting organizational information, including metrics, goals, and progress to major funders, possible partners and businesses interested in working with the Center for Sport. This position will work closely with the Director of External Relations.
The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated departments. The Human Resources Business Partner serves as counsel to management on human resources-related issues. The successful Human Resources Business Partner will act as an employee champion and change agent. The Human Resources Business Partner assesses and anticipates human resources-related needs. Communicating needs proactively, the Human Resources Business Partner seeks to develop integrated solutions.
The Human Resources Business Partner formulates partnerships across the Human Resources and university-wide to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the objectives of the University. The Human Resources Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the departments financial position, midrange plans, and culture.
The duration of this position is up to one year, dependent on continued funding.
